Going one step beyond the norm, is something that here at FTS Safety Solutions, I always strive to do. I do like to try to plan for all eventualities, even last week I had to change the route because of highway maintenance …
I did have a couple of backup plans ready this week just in case the London Marathon caused us any problems while en route to our client’s office. However, this time, we had the best journey to and from the offices; strangely enough without any hold ups.
As a company we subscribe to two special listings which informs us of any recall notices which could have potential dangers, these listings are run by the Electrical Safety Council and UK Recall Notices so we get notified of any recall notices that are issued. So what is it that we do that is one step beyond the norm? Well, recently there has been a number of national news items which have tried to highlight the dangers of manufacturers who have placed recall notices of potential manufacturing faults and/or fire risks. The problem is that not everyone is aware of the dangers or would even know where to look for these notices.
So what do we do with these recalls? Our results software allows us to run reports based on the appliance and the manufacturer which means we can notify our customer that they may have one of the potentially affected appliances. Only last year we sent our customers information about Fridge Freezers which had been recalled and 2 hours later we received an email from one stating “Thank You. Our appliance was one of those affected.” So one step beyond? Or just that little bit of extra customer service?
Another of our clients has 30 sites across the county. Again, we contacted them to say that they had six potential fire risks, but because we had narrowed the search down to only six sites instead of 30, the client’s response was “Thank you! I can go to all the sites in one day rather than in five or six.“
Only last week there was a recall notice on Hotpoint dishwashers. Certainly a potential fire risk, so we have notified our clients about the risk and have had one response which was “we haven’t got an affected appliance but thank you for notifying us“. I have even checked mine at home.
Until next time …So if you want a company that goes one step beyond the madness of the norm then give me a call on 0330 6600264 or click here to ping over an email and let’s talk about your testing needs and, of course, setting you up to receive those all important recall notices!
