I sit here wondering what to write about in my next blog. Panic starts to set in and then it comes to me. How does anyone in business keep track of their quotes, outstanding invoices, purchase orders and any other client based information?
I thought about all the customer relationship tools that are available and thought about the minefield I could be stepping into. I used to use ACT by Sage but I never really got to grips with it. More to the point, even studying ACT by Sage for Dummies, the book, I couldn’t understand how to get the best from the software.
Now this was a good 12 months ago and I suppose I don’t think I have missed it. Is it because I didn’t need it or just tried to get by using various other methods like tasks in Outlook? I’m now at that crossroads where I need to be more efficient in how I work. What is it that they say? You should “work smarter”?
So what do I need to do to find the right solution for my business? I suppose I could just trawl the Internet, read all the reviews about each and every solution there is and then make a decision. Alternatively I could always set up a meeting with Pam Mannell of CRM Essentials and get an experts advice. Priority A Task – Arrange Meeting with Pam then!
Now why would I want a solution to my problem? I need to be able to see daily tasks and set their priorities, chase customer quotes, set reminders to contact customers annually and generally streamline my current business processes. This has all come about since I recently attended an ActionCoach seminar which highlighted to me that I need to ensure that I have documented processes that I can fall back to “just In case”. After all, that “just in case moment” could be around the next corner. I’m lucky I have someone to fall back on if anything does happen but I need to make sure they can function without my input. You never know, this documented process could be the start of working towards ISO accreditation.
