From Fire Extinguishers to Fire Alarm and PAT Testing
This client had asked us to supply three new extinguishers when we came to do the service, now on arrival I was first greeted by not only the client contact, but also that great first question of the day, “tea or coffee?“
Tea in hand the client showed me around the site and to the points where we could find the extinguishers. During this walk around, the client explained that they used to have a well known company do their servicing, but their customer service and prices meant that they needed to find an alternative hence why we were there.
He told me that this other company wanted to charge nearly 200% more for the same type of fire extinguisher!
Once the extinguishers had been serviced, I headed back to the main reception, another cup of tea gets offered (the 5th of the day) and I wait until the contact is free from a meeting. I have to admit he made me laugh when he thanked me for getting him out of there!
He then asked me to provide a quote for the fire alarm system and also for their PAT testing. I did have to explain that as the client works within the construction trade, some of the site based equipment would need to be tested every three months.
“Judging by some of their power leads, they will need a bit of TLC to get them to meet current standards!”
