Over the past few weeks, we have been creating a plan to expand FTS in 2014. That’s at the same time as working on a major PAT testing contract for Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes Fire Authority. Now with that coming to an end we can really concentrate on the New Year and how we intend to expand …
Expanding The Business In 2014
One of the first things that we have to look at in 2014 is our current promotional material. With the added help of the Growth Accelerator program, we have been able to secure a grant for 50% of the funding needed to design and print new brochures, flyers and business cards. The next step is to talk to the designer and get something underway, otherwise we might not meet our deadline date for the launch.
Secondly, I think I shall be looking at ways in which I can use sblogit.com (who host and edit this blog) to help get the added circulation from the various social media platforms that our weekly blog posts are shared on.
Blogging has really helped us to raise our business profile and let the world know about the services we offer. This was proven to me today when we had an enquiry from a swanky restaurant in Mayfair, asking us to look after all their Health and Safety requirements. When we asked how they found out about us they said they had read one of our blog posts and called immediately. Well, in my mind, that’s a huge win for us and thanks to the sblogit.com editorial team for making that happen!
Securing the finance for new promotional material means that we have a little extra in the bank for our training requirements, so next I must book a space on a five day training course for Fire Extinguisher servicing. This means that FTS can bring that part of the service in-house rather than having to sub contract. And that, of course, means we’ll have a better profit margin for that service.
If there’s a downside, I guess we will have to hold some additional stock in the form of fire extinguishers, but it’s nothing major. I’m now thinking a lease vehicle will have to be put into the plan as well!
Until next time …If you’d like to work with a professional testing company who are expanding in 2014 then do call me on 0330 6600264 or click here to ping over an email and let’s see how FTS Safety Solutions can help you with PAT testing, fire extinguisher maintenance and electrical condition reports.Anyway, my first priority is to plan for the next three months, put that plan into action and project manage the whole process to completion. Fingers crossed that we do not slip from our proposed target relaunch date in 2014!
