Our PAT Service

Portable Appliance testing is vital to protect your business and its employees. Electrical safety obligations are not limited to businesses, of course; landlords are also responsible for ensuring the regular testing of all appliances they provide for their tenants.

All our engineers are highly experienced, CRB checked and are qualified to City and Guilds standard 2377, they also wear uniforms and have ID badges, which gives you the peace of mind that a quality job will be carried out.

FTS Safety Solutions will attend at a time agreed by you and will inspect every appliance including the plug, fuse, case, lead and the usage environment. We will change plugs and fuses as necessary at an agreed nominal charge. Each appliance is comprehensively tested to meet the exacting requirements of the IET code of practice for In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment. We use the latest, fully calibrated, computerised Portable Appliance testing equipment.

It is a requirement that all electrical equipment that is to be tested will be disconnected from the mains supply. While we appreciate any inconvenience that this can cause, test work cannot be undertaken unless it is completely safe to do so. Therefore testing can be undertaken out of hours or weekends to minimise disruption if required.

FTS Safety Solutions has a service guarantee which simply states that we will carry out all work efficiently and economically without undue disruption or compromising safety. Minor faults found during the course of the inspection can be repaired as we find them and the appliance re-tested. More serious faults will always be reported to the business manager or appropriate person.

All items that pass the inspection and testing procedure will be labelled with a safety sticker attached to the appliance stating its asset id, test date, retest date, our contact name and telephone number. We can even pre-print your own appliance labels if required!. On completion of the testing you will be issued with a safety certificate and a detailed report outlining details on each individual item.

Important Notice: Before you use the services of any PAT-testing company, be sure to ascertain whether they can offer you the following three assurances: FULLY qualified PAT Engineers - FULL public liability insurance - ALL testing undertaken to approved and recognised standards employing The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and its Code of Practice.
